To meet the demands of incoming students and increase the retention rate of upper-class students in university housing, Purdue University built new housing on the West Lafayette campus that offers private beds and shared baths in an apartment-like arrangement.

The buildings are arranged in units. Each unit shares a common living space (“cluster-type” housing) and has areas for group and private study. A community center is located in the middle of the complex, containing administrative offices, an open computer lab, a multipurpose room, and student activity office and meeting rooms.
